Co. Kildare is world-renowned for its horse breeding and racing. It has luxuriant grasslands and peatlands crossed by canals and the Barrow and Liffey Rivers. Attractions include the Japanese Gardens, the National Stud and Horse Museum, together with the heritage towns of Athy and Kildare.
